PIKEVILLE -- Deborah McLaurin Weaver, 62, passed away Monday, April 30, 2012, at her home.

Deborah Weaver was born in Matoaka, W.Va., Aug. 23, 1949.

She was employed for many years at the North Carolina Community Federal Credit Union.

Deborah will be remembered by many for her love of life and its varied possibilities.

She spent many hours caring for her mother, often sacrificing her own needs.

Deborah was best friend to her daughter, Kelly, and a caring, loving parent and grandparent whose primary goal was the happiness and security of her family.

She always enjoyed visiting New Orleans, and had just returned home from a visit.

A service to celebrate Deborah's life will be held Thursday, May 3, 2012, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with pastor Ronald Fletcher officiating.

Deborah is survived by her son, Christopher M. Weaver and wife, Julie, of Thomasville; her daughter, Kelly Weaver Rouse and husband, Nathan of Snow Hill; her mother, Martha D. McLaurin of Goldsboro; and her grandchildren, Jeffrey Krauch, Davey Weaver, Matthew Krauch, Jeremy Weaver, Kaitlynn Krauch, Brendan Rouse and Lane Rouse.

She is also survived by her stepchildren, Sherry Posey, Bobbi Bennett and Bill Weaver III, and their families.

She was preceded in death by her father, B.E. McLaurin.

The family will receive friends Thursday, May 3, 2012, following the service at Seymour Funeral Home.

Deborah had always been very passionate about the importance of education and the promise that it provides to each of us individually and collectively, and to help realize this dream for her own family, a scholarship fund for her grandchildren will be established. For those who may be interested in contributing to this scholarship fund, memorials may be sent to the North Carolina Community Federal Credit Union at 2401 E. Ash St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27532.

Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.seymourfuneralhome.com.
