MOUNT OLIVE -- Mrs. Muriel Jones Best, 81, 890 Shady Grove Road, Mount Olive, died early Sunday morning, April 29, 2012, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Services will be held Tuesday, May 1, at 7 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home, with the Rev. Leland Heath officiating, followed by visitation. Burial will be Wednesday, May 2, at 11 a.m. in Maplewood Cemetery in Mount Olive.
Friends and family are also being received at the residence.
Mrs. Best, a homemaker and farmer's wife, was a member of Smith Chapel United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women, and found much enjoyment with her Bible study sessions with "The Golden Girls."
She is survived by her husband, Maurice Best; a daughter, Cynthia B. Aycock and husband, Frankie, of Pikeville; two sons, Benny Best and wife, Phylis, and Garry Best and wife, Betty, all of Mount Olive; two granddaughters, Heather and Oriana Aycock; and a sister, Christine Karl of Pikeville.
Mrs. Best was preceded in death by her parents, Norman Daniel Jones and Venetia Bell Jones; a brother, Murray Jones; and a sister, Shirley Bater.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate any memorial gifts to be made to Smith Chapel United Methodist Church.
