KINSTON -- A triumph homegoing service for evangelist Shirley S. Jones will be held Friday at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro, with visitation afterward.
A graveside service will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Raleigh Memorial Park.
Mrs. Jones was born in Australia Sept. 22, 1927, where many of her survivors are from.
She was an evangelist, and traveled all over the world for 50 years touching many lives.
She leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Bishop Bobby Jones and wife, Linda, of Alaska and Jimmy Jones and wife, Wanda, of Kinston; a daughter, Teddy Boatwright of Kinston; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, Louis E. Jones, and a granddaughter, the Rev. Kimmie Benton.
