SADIE C. HOLLAND

Sadie C. Holland, 78, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord surrounded by her family March 6, 2012, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center after a courageous two-year battle with brain cancer.
Mrs. Holland was born Nov. 1, 1933, in Johnston County to Andrew and Vida Johnson.
She devoted her time and energy to helping her family and friends. She had a passion for cooking and sewing, and was well known for sharing these amazing talents with all who knew her. She was a special person to many people and she will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Victor R. Holland Sr.; her daughter, Vicki Quillen and husband, Michael; son, Vic Holland Jr. and wife, Tiffany; grandchildren, William D. "Trey" Lane III and Kalin Bennett, Matthew S. Lane, and wife, Melissa, Taylor M. Bowers, Chase P. Bowers, Makenzie R. Bowers, Nina Quillen, Nick Quillen and Warner Holland; great-grandchildren, William D. "Will" Lane IV and Kaiden C. Lane; brother, Jay Johnson; sister, Lavern Reardon; son-in-law, Dwane Bowers; and special friends, Roland and Belinda Dail.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Belinda C. Lane, and her parents, Andrew and Vida Johnson.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 8, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home.
Funeral to be held Friday, March 9, at 3 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home, with pastor Doug Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Princeton Cemetery.
A special thanks to Southeastern Medical Oncology Center, the fourth-floor staff at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Kitty Askins Hospice Center, Duke University Brain Tumor Center and her special "best" friend, Kalin Bennett, for the care and compassion shown during her illness.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center or Cures for the Colors at Southeastern Medical Oncology Center.
