ROSSIE B. BYRD

WARSAW -- Rossie Brock Byrd, 75, of 149 Johnson-Byrd Road, Warsaw, died Sunday evening, Aug. 7, 2011, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, at Tyndall Funeral Home. The Rev. Paul Rose will officiate. Entombment will follow in Devotional Gardens of Warsaw.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on today from 6 until 8 p.m. and at the residence at other times.
Mrs. Byrd was a member of the Faison Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and farmer's wife.
Mrs. Byrd is survived by five children and their spouses, Gwen B. and Joe Neely of Wilson, Edward N. Byrd Jr. and Pondra Byrd of Clayton, Rose B. and William Herring of Warsaw, Becky B. and Mike Thompson of Whiteville, and Jennifer B. and Carl Sandlin of Kenansville; three sisters, Minnie Lee Holloman and Carolyn King, both of Mount Olive, and Kathy Gardner of Dudley; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchldren; a special aunt, Annie Laura Myers of Mount Olive; a special cousin, Judy Brogden and husband, Doug, of Mount Olive.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward N. Byrd Sr.; her parents, Henry and Sally Swinson Brock; a sister, Dorothy Coley; and three brothers, Prentice Brock, Laston "Jam" Brock, and H. Earl Brock.
