FREMONT -- Earl Wayland Knowles, 81, died Wednesday at Wilson Pines Nursing Facility.
Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Rose Hill Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jimmie Suggs officiating. Burial will be in Knowles Family Cemetery in Rose Hill.
He was born March 7, 1930, in Duplin County to the late Mattie Register Knowles and Daniel Franklin Knowles. He was married to the late Margaret Watson Knowles.
He is survived by a son and a daughter.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 tonight at Community Funeral Home of Rose Hill.
