LaGRANGE -- Marjorie Wilson Sutton, 92, of LaGrange, passed away Friday, April 22, 2011.
A service of remembrance will be held Monday, April 25, 2011, at 7 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home with the Rev. Tony McLamb officiating. Interment will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery.
Mrs. Sutton was born Jan. 2, 1919, in Wayne County to the late Sanders Alex Wilson and Annie Laurie Daniels Wilson. Mrs. Sutton was a member of Walnut Creek Free Will Baptist Church where she played the piano for many years and taught Sunday school. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, flowers, gardening and cooking.
Mrs. Sutton had a special love for her family and is survived by her husband of almost 75, years, C.B. Sutton; four daughters, Mary Ann Sutton Bartlett of LaGrange, Faye Sutton Hardy and husband, Baxter, of Jason, Rebecca "Becky" Sutton of LaGrange, Alma Sutton Strickland and husband, Bobby, of Goldsboro; sister, Athaleen Johnson of Smithfield; special adopted son, John "Sutton" Bartlett and wife, Faye, of LaGrange; special family caregiver, Robin "Rose" Sutton Graham; 12 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Sutton was preceded in death by a sister, Hattie Grady; and two brothers, Marion Wilson and James Wilson.
The family will receive friends Monday evening following the service and at other times they will be at the home. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rousefh.com.
