Thomas Larry Massengill, 71, passed away Friday morning, Nov. 5, 2010, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A graveside service will be held Monday, Nov. 8, 2010, at 2 p.m. Wayne Memorial Park.
Mr. Massengill was born in Johnston County on Nov. 23, 1938, to the late James Byron Massengill and Lillian Radford Massengill. He was the widow of Ellen Sutton Massengill.
He is survived by two sons, Michael Massengill and wife, Carla, of Goldsboro and Larry Self and wife, Kathy, of Baytown, Texas; one daughter, Cynthia Ballard and husband, Donnie, of Goldsboro; one brother, Bobby Massengill and wife, Beatrice, of New Jersey; and seven grandchildren, Skylar, Connor, Taylor, Stalen, Dylan, Daniel and Garrett.
In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Massengill was preceded in death by his sister, Lois Peele.
The family will receive friends today from 3 until 5 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro and other times at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Carla Massengill, 119 Clay Brook Drive in Goldsboro.
