THOMAS F. WHITMIRE

Thomas F. Whitmire, 79, Goldsboro, passed away Tuesday evening at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.
He was the son of the late Coy and Bertie Whitmire, and husband of the late Elinor Whitmire.
Mr. Whitmire was a retired senior master sergeant in the United States Air Force.
A funeral service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.
Mr. Whitmire is survived by two daughters and four sons, Ann and husband, Bernie Chavis, of Dudley, N.C., Paula and husband, Jerry Dean, of Evans, Ga., Terry Paul and wife, Rose Whitmire, of Pikeville, N.C., Timothy and wife, Jacqui Whitmire, of LaGrange, N.C., Robert and wife, Susan Whitmire, of Goldsboro, N.C., and William and wife, Rachel Whitmire, of Goldsboro;15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends Friday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
