DANIEL LEROY WIGGINS

SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. -- Daniel Leroy Wiggins, 66, passed away Friday, Sept. 3, 2010, after a long illness at his home surrounded by his family.
Daniel was born in Wayne County Nov. 8, 1943, to the late Willie Wiggins and Thelma Peedin Wiggins.
He owned and operated Daniel Wiggins Trucking Co. for many years.
Daniel was a very accomplished carpenter. After retiring from trucking, Daniel used his carpentry skills to operate his own shop in Gatlinburg, Tenn. There he used his skills to build and design beautiful furniture.
During his leisure time, Daniel loved to spend time at the mountain streams, where he would show his fabulous cooking and grilling skills.
His three grandchildren were all very special to him, and he loved spending time with them. He also had a great love for animals of all kinds.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Carroll Wiggs officiating. Interment will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Daniel is survived by his wife of 45 years, Joyce Marie House Wiggins; his daughter, Teresa Wiggins; his son, Michael Wiggins and wife, Margaret; and his three grandchildren, Michael Joseph Wiggins, Matthew Allen Wiggins and Victoria Brooklyn Deskins. He is also survived by his sisters, Doris Daniels, Joyce Rhodes and Betty Daughtry all of Goldsboro; his brother, James Wiggins of Goldsboro; and many special nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Geraldine Crystal, and his brother, William Wiggins.
The family will receive friends Wednesday following the service at Seymour Funeral Home.
