FREMONT -- Craven Brooks Gay, 68, 7348 U.S. 117 north, passed away Tuesday evening at Wilson Medical Center in Wilson.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Craven was born in Nash County Dec. 27, 1940, to the late George Lee Bissette and Ellie Lee Gay.
He is survived by his wife, Renee Gay; a daughter, Jerri Deitch of Georgia; a stepson, Jami Pate and wife, Pamela, of Goldsboro; a stepdaughter, Brandy Causey and husband, Kenneth, of Goldsboro; a brother, Mickey Narron of Sims; six special grandchildren, Hannah and Jake Deitch, Caroline and Ashton Pate and Kaylyn and Brayden Causey; his father and mother-in-law, Billy and Dorothy Ellis of Goldsboro; a special nephew, Josh Ellis of Goldsboro; and a special aunt, Jean Lamm of Wilson.
Although flowers are welcome, memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society, 930 B Wellness Drive, Greenville, N.C., 27834.
