W.D. CRISP

William Dewitt Crisp, 76, passed away early Sunday morning at his home surrounded by his family.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2 to 3 p.m. in the vestibule of The First Pentecostal Holiness Church, followed by a service at 3 p.m. Interment will follow in Wayne Memorial Park, with the Rev. Bill Rose and the Rev. Joe Francisco officiating.
At other times, the family will be at their home, 105 Cassedale Drive, Goldsboro.
W.D. was born in Lenoir County Oct. 18, 1932, to the late Melvin Dewitt Crisp and Nina Long Crisp.
He owned and operated a construction company in Goldsboro for many years.
W.D. had served on the Goldsboro Planning Board and the Wayne Memorial Hospital Board. He was a member of the Goldsboro Masonic Lodge #634 A.F. & A.M. and attended The First Pentecostal Holiness Church.
W.D. served his country in the United States Coast Guard.
W.D. is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mollie Harrison Crisp; his daughter, Teresa Crisp and Grover Hood of Goldsboro; his son, William Crisp Jr. of California; his grandson, Rand Ingram of Goldsboro; his brother, David Crisp and wife, Glendora, of LaGrange; his sisters, Elizabeth C. Francisco and husband, Cecil, of Goldsboro, Shirlean Crisp of Goldsboro and Mary C. Hood and husband, Rex, of Goldsboro; and his sister-in-law, Beverly Crisp of Georgia.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Crisp.
The family would like to give special thanks to his caregiver, Liz Mooring.
