SAM R. OATES
FAISON -- Mr. Sam R. Oates, 78, passed away Sunday.
Mr. Oates was a retired member of the Suttontown Rescue Squad, having served for 20 years.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Mike Carter officiating.
The family will receive friends at West & Dunn Funeral Home, Newton Grove, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. tonight.
Mr. Oates is survived by his wife, Jean Oates; sons and daughter-in-law, Dennis Oates and Sam Edwin Oates and wife, Rita, all of Faison; grandchildren, Jennifer Hunter, Samantha Carter, Storm Oates and Derek Oates; great-grandchildren, Clint, Keith and Collin Carter, Mason Hunter and Logan Oates; his brother, Bob Oates and wife, Margaret, of Clinton; and his sisters Margaret Martin of Faison and Joyce Odom and husband, Tatum, of Dobbersville.
