FRANCES H. TAYLOR

Frances Ham Taylor, 81, died Wednesday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 3:30 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. John Dutton and the Rev. Rose Hicks officiating. Interment will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
Mrs. Taylor was born in Wayne County Oct. 12, 1927, to the late Oscar Ham and Ruth Butler Ham.
She retired from Cherry Hospital as a medical secretary and was a member of the State Retirees Association.
Mrs. Taylor graduated from Crumpler's Secretarial School.
She was a member of Daniels Memorial United Methodist Church. She taught Sunday school for more than 50 years and was a member of the Mary Martha Women's Circle.
Mrs. Taylor enjoyed flower gardening and needlework. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed watercolor painting.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by her husband of 62 years, Delbert Taylor; her daughters, Bonnie Edwards of Seven Springs and Mary Gurley of Raleigh; her brother, Nathan Ham of Goldsboro; her son, Delbert Taylor Jr. of Greenville, Va.; her grandchildren, Heather Gaster and husband, Preston of Garner, Mesha Tyrell of Wilmington, Michael Tyrell of Germany and Matthew Tyrell of Waterflow, N.M.; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Oscar Ham of Goldsboro; her mother, Ruth Ballree of Goldsboro; her sister, Melba Wallace of Marysville, Mo.; and her brother, Ray Ham of Goldsboro.
Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be made to Daniels Memorial United Methodist Church, 2803 E. Ash St., Goldsboro, NC, 27534.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and at other times at the home, 1900 Englewood Drive, Goldsboro.
