Shirley Faye Witherington Strickland, 73, died Sunday at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.
A memorial service will be held tonight at 7 at Blended Fellowship Church in Pikeville with the Rev. Doug Seymour officiating.
Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Annie Witherington and the wife of the late Herman Jerry Strickland Sr.
Mrs. Strickland is survived by four children.
Arrangements are being handled by Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc.
