MACON, Ga. -- John Edward Foster, 62, died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009, after an extended illness.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, in the Chapel at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville. Pastor Brad Marchman will officiate.
Born to the late John Henry and Mary Ella Snyder Foster, Mr. Foster was a retired Air Force Tech. Sgt. and served in Vietnam and was awarded the purple heart. He was a member of Lawrence Drive Baptist Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Betty Foster of Macon; their sons, John Daniel and wife, Vicki Foster, of Baker, Fla., and Kyle E. and wife, Kimberli Foster, of Fayetteville; five grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren; sisters, Nancy Sheek of Lexington, and Brenda Jessup of Walkertown.
The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Rooks Funeral Home in Byron, Ga. Rooks Funeral Home in Byron is in charge of arrangements.
