DONNELL RICHARDSON

Our beloved Donnell, 68, a dedicated father, best friend, big brother and confidant, peacefully departed from his journey on Friday.
His life and legacy will be celebrated Friday at 1 p.m. at Refuge Temple Church with pastor Timothy Whitfield officiating. He will be laid to rest with military honors in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 2 to 6 p.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home Ministries, Goldsboro.
Donnell Richardson was born Aug. 30, 1940, in Goldsboro to the late Jasper Richardson and Melissa Barnes Richardson. He was the second oldest of eight.
Donnell attended Wayne County Public Schools and graduated from Dillard High School in 1959. He proudly served in the United States Army for two years, during the Vietnam War. Through life's journey, he met and befriended many people. In 1975, Donnell married Linda Carraway. He really enjoyed family life. Donnell believed in hard work and dedication, which he continuously showed to his family and in his 33 years of service at Cherry Hospital.
Donnell was a remarkable human being and believed that everyone should receive love. He gave of himself to each generation of his family. Family was the most important thing to him. Donnell enjoyed going on family outings and being a father to many.
Those left to treasure his many memories are his wife, Linda; daughter, Jacqueline Williams; son, Reggie McKeithan; sisters, Mary Armbrester, Katherine Richardson and Linda Richardson of Goldsboro; brothers, Jasper Richardson Jr. (Jessie), Charlie Richardson (Debrah) of Goldsboro, and Stanley Richardson (Diane) of Newport News, Va.; mother-in-law, Flossie Carraway; sisters-in-law, Sharon Bell (Gene), Cynthia Whitfield (Timothy), Angie Carraway and Regina Carraway of Goldsboro; brothers-in-law, Billy Carraway of Goldsboro and Ricky Carraway (Shannon) of Fort St. Lucas ,Fla.; five grandchildren, Eric Williams, Brandon Williams, Antionio Fogg, Jaiheem Broadhurst and Jordan Cooper; one great -grandchild, Shianiya Williams; a host of special nieces, nephews, family and friends.
The family will receive friends at the residence, 117 Randall Lane, where they will also assemble in preparation for the funeral procession.
