Brenda Turnage Herritt, 56, 101 Tindale Place, a two time survivor of cancer, fought the great battle, but lost her war on Sunday with her family by her side.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday at Shumate-Faulk Chapel at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Sherwood Howell officiating. Burial will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.
Born in Sampson County, she was the daughter of Margie Strickland of Goldsboro and the late Floyd Willis Turnage. She was a supervisor with Excel Linde Corporation.
In addition to her mother, Brenda is survived by her husband, Ray Herritt; a son and daughter-in-law, Jamie Ray and Carrie Herritt of Goldsboro; a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Bob Stanley of Goldsboro; five brothers and sisters-in-law; James and Stephanie of Vincennes, Ind., Giles and Vera Turnage of Goldsboro, Dwight and Debbie Turnage of Goldsboro, Mike and Cathy Turnage of Goldsboro, Ray and Betsy Strickland of Faison; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathy Warrick of Goldsboro, Marsha and Billy Kornegay of Goldsboro, Margie and Niles Twiddy of Mans Harbor; three grandchildren, Jackson Herritt, Jenna Stanley and Hallie Stanley; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will greet friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.
