Melba Davis, 69, 305 S. Oleander Ave., died Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Maranatha Seventh Day Church in Goldsboro. Burial will follow in Jerusalem Church Cemetery.
The third of eight children, she was born Nov. 28, 1939, in Wayne County to the late Effie Campbell Davis and the late Thero Davis. She was reared in Wayne County and attended Wayne County Public Schools. She was employed by Cherry Hospital in housekeeping until retirement and was a caretaker for her mother.
She leaves to cherish her memory four children, Stanley, Bonita, Michael and Jeoffrey Davis; three sisters, Edna, Bessie and Carolyn Davis; one brother, Norwood Davis (Bill); seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m. with the family present to receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home Ministries of Goldsboro.
The family will receive friends at other times at the residence where they will also assemble in preparation for the funeral procession.
