VIRGINIA LEE CARTER

Virginia Lee Carter, 79, passed away on Friday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 7:30 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with the Revs. Mitch Ham and Bill Wilson officiating. Interment will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Pine Forest United Methodist Church.
Virginia was born in Wayne County on Sept. 29, 1929 to the late Daniel Carter and Annie Lee Newsome Carter. She retired from Dewey Brothers and later worked for the Claridge State Nursery.
Virginia is survived by her daughter, Lee-Ann Carter Keen and husband, Danny, of Goldsboro; her son, Charles Gunnels of Goldsboro; her granddaughter, April Keen of Goldsboro; and her sister, Evelyn "Tenny" Davis of Triangle, Va. She is also survived by the niece she raised, Bonnie Chittenden of Newton Grove.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
The family will receive friends Sunday following the service at Seymour Funeral Home.
