Derek Dupuy died Sunday at Pitt Memorial Hospital.
A viewing will be held at Hamilton Funeral Chapel on Saturday from 1 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. at St. James African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church with Dr. Dwight Cannon officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery in Dudley. A wake will be held Saturday from 6 to 7 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel with the family present to receive other family members and friends.
He leaves to cherish his children, Destiny and Derion Dupuy; his mother, Valorie Dancy Dupuy; six brothers, Darryl Dunn, Brandon, Denzel and Damien Dancy, Decarlos McDuffie and Joshua Robinson; two sisters, Darnisha Dunn and De'ja Dancy; grandmother and great-grandmother, Ernestine and Pearl Irene Dancy; two uncles, Darin Dancy and Leodis Hamlin; two aunts, Christina Dancy and Millie Davis; one niece, Aniya Dancy and fiancee, Shavone Oates, all of Goldsboro.
Derek was preceded in death by his grandfather, George Dancy, and aunt, Christine Dancy.
Family and friends may pay respects at 805 Weaver Drive.
