RUSSELL L. RHODES

Russell Leon Rhodes, 79, 102 Hillview Lane, passed away Monday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held this evening at 6 in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro. Graveside services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.
Mr. Rhodes was born in Wayne County on Oct. 21, 1929, to the late Sam and Ethel Mitchell Rhodes. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife, Belle Rhodes; two daughters, Cheryl Rhodes of Lake Waccamaw and Patricia Dudley and her husband, Neil of Rosewood; one brother, Spicer Rhodes and his wife, Beverly of Nahunta; two sisters, Rachell Sasser of Belfast and Louise Dail and her husband, Brice of Goldsboro; and two grandchildren, Lauren and Kayla Dudley.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Rhodes was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry "Jim" Rhodes and Roland Edward Rhodes.
The family will receive friends this evening following the funeral service this evening and other times at the residence.
