James A. "Pap" Sherard, 73, 706 Sunny S. St., died Sunday at his residence.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Best Grove Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
Among his survivors are his wife, Eloise Sherard; six children; one brother and two sisters.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2 to 7 p.m. with the family present to receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home Ministries. The family will receive friends at other times at the residence where they will also assemble in preparation for the funeral procession.
