Inez Vivian Swinson Joyner died Friday at the Brian Center.
A homegoing service, celebrating her life and legacy, will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Goldsboro Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, 1314 Ben Brewington Court with pastor James Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Joyner was the third child born to the late Emmett and Sudie Johnson Swinson on Oct. 1, 1926, in Goldsboro.
She graduated from Dillard High School in 1944, and Beauty College in New York. She worked as a licensed cosmetologist for 20 years and retired from O'berry Center as a health care technician in 1990. She was an active member of the Goldsboro Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.
Surviving to cherish her precious memory are her daughter and son-in-law, Suerontineete and Kelvin Parker of Goldsboro; three brothers, James and his wife Elizabeth, Emmett Morris and Charlie and his wife Gloria Swinson of Goldsboro; four grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held Thursday from 2 to 7 p.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home with the family present to receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. At other times the family will receive friends at the home of her daughter at 303 Ryan Court and will also assemble there in preparation for the funeral procession.
