LAGRANGE -- Peggy Ann Teachey Smith, 75, passed away on Monday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Todd Wiggins officiating. Burial will follow in the Teachey-Smith Family Cemetery.
Mrs. Smith was born in Wayne County on April 1, 1933, to the late Carl B. Teachey and Naomi Williams Teachey. She was married to the late Joe Berry Smith. Mrs. Smith was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed helping and visiting the elderly; she never met a stranger. Mrs. Smith was also an avid Tarheel basketball fan.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her children, Joe B. Smith Jr. and wife, Debbie of Goldsboro and Wendy Smith of Goldsboro; and her grandchildren, Justin Smith, Jessica Smith, Jason Smith, Dalton Smith and Stephanie Smith.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
