Thirl Best, 79, of 152 Dale Drive, Mount Olive, died Saturday at his residence.
Graveside services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park, with the Revs. Doug Bartlett and Jimmy Swinson officiating.
Born in Sampson County, he was the son of the late Johnny Robert and Mary King Best and was preceded in death by his first wife, Laurie Herring Best. He attended Mount Olive First Pentecostal Holiness Church, was a retired salesman with Best Used Cars and the former owner of Mount Olive Used Cars.
Mr. Best is survived by his wife, Marguerite Myers Best; two daughters, Kim Langston and husband, Jerry, of Goldsboro, Debbie Banks and husband, Shawn, of Selma; two sisters, Myrna Brogden of Goldsboro, Ann Britt of Goldsboro; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Family members will greet friends at the graveside immediately following the service and at other times at the home.
