E.H. "BUDDY" ALLEN

PIKEVILLE -- E.H. "Buddy" Allen, 87, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday evening at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by his family.
Celebration services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro. Burial will follow at the Patetown Cemetery.
Buddy was born in Wayne County on April 15, 1921 to the late John Becton and Bessie Roberts Allen. He was retired from Goldsboro Milling Company and loved working outdoors in his garden.
He is survived by two sons, Larry Allen and special friend, Lily Sutton, of Goldsboro and Gene Allen and his wife, Joan, of Pikeville; four daughters, Marie Jennette and her husband, Kenneth, of Pikeville, Frances Tyndall of Pikeville, Esther Massey of Pikeville and Pam Sutton and her husband, Randy, of Pikeville; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Buddy was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel J. Allen; two brothers, John Emmit Allen and Erastus Allen; and one sister, Mittie Lee Bonda.
The family will receive friends today from 4 until 6 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro and other times at the home of Marie and Kenneth Jennette, 201 Jordan Bluff Drive in Pikeville.
