JACK B. GREENE

Retired Lt. Col. Jack Boyce Greene, U.S.A.F., 75, passed away Monday morning at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
A memorial service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with full military honors following the service on the front lawn. Private entombment will be at Wayne Memorial Park.
Jack was born in Cassetta, Ga. on Nov. 16, 1932, to the late David Burtlott Greene and El Dora Johnson Greene. He retired from the United States Air Force with 21 years of distinguished service to his country. Jack was the former owner and operator of Aamco Transmission in Goldsboro.
Jack is survived by his wife, Phyllis Gosnell Greene; his sister, Frances McAlister of Beune Vista, Ga.; his step-daughters, Patricia Lewis Hinnant and husband, Glen; Karen Lewis Dark and husband, Marshall; and Sandra Lewis Rose and husband, Thomas; his step-grandchildren, Leslie Hinnant, Drew Dark, Laura Dark, Nicholas Rose, Mathew Rose, Tyler Rose and Jennings Rose; and several loving and devoted nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Jeanne Greene; and three sisters, Sara Stockdale, Bernice Pyler and Ruth McCrurie.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his memory to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 204 E. Chestnut Street, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530 or to Home, Health and Hospice, 2402 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
The family will receive friends Friday following the service at Seymour Funeral Home.
