GORDON J. BOYLE

Master Sgt. Gordon “Gerry” John Boyle, retired U.S.A.F., 82, passed away on Thursday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Todd Wiggins officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery with full military honors.
Gordon was born in Joliet, Ill., on March 28, 1926, to the late James Mooney Boyle and Helen Sommerville Boyle of Motherwell, Scotland. He was married to the late Clare Taylor Boyle of Burtonwood, England. Gordon retired from the United States Air Force on Oct. 31, 1971, after serving his country for 25 years. He retired with the rank of Master Sgt. Gordon was a member of Adamsville Baptist Church.
Gordon is survived by his sons, Gerry Boyle and wife, Cheryl of Cary, Glen Boyle and wife, Kelly of Goldsboro and Renay Boyle and wife, Ellen of Fayetteville; his brother, Jackie Boyle and wife, Betty of Delft, Netherlands; his brother-in-law, Barry Taylor and wife, Pauline of Burtonwood, England; his grandchildren, Brooks Baucom and husband, Jason of Wilmington, Sarah Boyle, Abigail Boyle, Joshua Boyle and Caleb Boyle, all of Fayetteville, and Clara-Lynn Boyle of Goldsboro; and his great-granddaughter, Sav-annah Rose Baucom. He is also survived by his dear friend, Jackie Crawford of Goldsboro.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at 104 Amhurst Drive, Goldsboro.
