MARY K. KING

Mary Edna Kornegay King, 74, passed away Saturday evening at Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation of Mount Olive. Born in Duplin County on Jan. 10, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Bernice and Myrtle Jernigan Kornegay and was preceded in death by a son, Gary N. King, and a sister, Sallie Gray Kornegay Roberts. She was a member of Rones Chapel United Methodist Church and was retired from National Spinning and farming.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Wayne Memorial Park.
Mrs. King is survived by her husband, Delmar W. King; two sons, Glenn W. King of Seven Springs and Gerald B. King and wife, Cindy, of Mount Olive; two brothers, C.B. Kornegay and wife, Margaret, of Mount Olive, and Don Kornegay and wife, Dorothy, of Kenansville; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Family members will greet friends Tuesday evening immediately following the funeral service at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and at other times at the home of her son, Gerald B. King, 444 Garner Chapel Road, Mount Olive, N.C. 28365.
