KINSTON -- Mary Frances Herring Smith, 77, of Kinston, died Sunday at Lenoir Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Herring was born in Lenoir County to the late Oscar Edward Herring Sr. and Katie Garris Herring.
A service of remembrance will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rouse Funeral Home with the Rev. Ray Broadwell officiating.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband, Phil D. Smith; two sons; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three sisters and four brothers.
