MADELYN L. FOX
Died July 17, 2008
Madelyn Leonard Fox, 85, passed away on Thursday.
Graveside services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, with the Rev. Ryan Rasmussen officiating. A visitation will follow the service in the home of Sue and Gerry Booker, 604 Chafin Road, Goldsboro.
She was the widow of J. Alston Fox and was preceded in death by her grandchild, Meredith Davis, and sons, Zachary and Boone.
Mrs. Fox was retired from Sears Department Store and, until her health failed, was a member of Walnut Creek Ladies Golf Association. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Fox was a native of Oxford, the youngest of eight children of Anne Catherine and John Leonard.
Mrs. Fox is survived by her daughter, Sue Carol Booker, and her husband, Gerry; and two grandchildren, Elizabeth Carroll Williams and her husband, Danny, of Wilmington and Catherine Carroll Mooring and her husband, Ricky, of Goldsboro. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Catherine Grace Mooring and Alston Daniel Williams.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Community Home Care and Hospice, 1201 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534 or to First Presbyterian Church, 1101 E. Ash St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
Arrangements are being handled by Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
