Janet Forrest Smith, died Saturday, June 28, 2008, at the age of 65.
A Mass will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Tom Norris, O.S.F.S., presiding.
Janet was born in Wayne County to the late Earl E. Forrest and Elizabeth J. Taylor. She was married to the late William Haywood Smith.
Janet was a lifelong resident of Goldsboro and was retired from Pate-Dawson Produce Co. with 17 years of service. She was a member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church. Janet was an avid reader and cross-stitcher.
She leaves to cherish her memory her brother, Edward E. Forrest and wife, Mitzi, of Wilmington; her grandson, who was the love of her life, Hunter Smith; her daughter-in-law, Robin C. Smith; and a host of other relatives and close friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Janet was preceded in death by her son, William Haywood Smith Jr.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn., 38105.
The family will greet friends following the service.
