HALLIE C. GILCHRIST

Hallie Crain Gilchrist, 96, died Sunday, June 29, 2008, at the Brian Center.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Raleigh National Cemetery with the Rev. Thurman Horney officiating.
Hallie was born in St. Elmo, Ill., March 3, 1912, to the late George M. Durbin and Caroline Nichols Durbin. She was married to the late John "Jack" Alden Crain and Harvey Gilchrist.
Hallie was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.
Hallie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jean Crain Michel of Greenville; her son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Milly Crain of Goldsboro; her grandchildren, Angie Lower and husband Jeff, Bill Michel, Kristan Mosley and husband Anthony, Andy Crain and Charlotte Crain; and five great-grandchildren, Tiffany Michel, Alex Michel, Meghan Lower, Matthew Lower and Jordin Mosley.
The family would like to express a special thanks to a long-time friend, Anna Yelverton, and the caring staff at the Brian Center.
In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, William Thomas Michel, and a grandson, John Alden Crain III.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to the Thompson Fund at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 204 E. Chestnut St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
The family will receive friends at the home of her son, 321 Cedar Road, Goldsboro, N.C.
