AMOS HARRIS SR.

Amos Harris Sr., 68, lovingly known by his family and friends as "Buck," of 1902 Elton Drive, Goldsboro, died on Thursday, June 26, 2008, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Buck started his life's journey on April 4, 1940, in Wayne County. He was the oldest son born to the late Mrs. Lillie Mae Lewis Harris and Mr. Ennis Harris Sr. Also, Buck was preceded in death by his brother, Ennis Harris Jr.
Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife, Carol Harris of the home; his sons and daughters-in-law, Amos Harris Jr. and Ivory and Angie Harris, of the home, Larry and Vanessa Harris of Goldsboro, and Tony Harris of Hopewell, Va.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, James Harris of Goldsboro and the Rev. Ronnie Lewis and Edward Harris, both of Wilson; three sisters, Bettie Pitt, Connie Barron and Magalene Woodard, all of Wilson; two aunts, one uncle; six sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law; several loving nieces, nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be held on Monday, June 30, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Elm Grove Church of Christ Disciples Of Christ, 118 Booker St., Pikeville, with Pastor Kenneth D. Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow in the Wayne Memorial Park Cemetery North, 1191 Old Grantham Road, Goldsboro. A viewing will be conducted on Sunday, June 29, 2008, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 423 S. James St., Goldsboro. Also, a wake will be held on Sunday, June 29, 2008, at Hamilton Funeral Chapel from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. with the family in attendance to receive other family members and friends.
