On June 18, 2008, Roy Wilkins Brock, 74, went to join his beloved Erika.
A celebration service will be held Friday evening at 7 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Swabsburg, Germany, at a later date. The family will receive friends at the home.
Roy was born in Calypso and joined the Army at the age of 18. He retired after being stationed all over the world. He lived in Swabsburg, Germany with his wife, Erika, until her death. He remained there until he moved to Mount Olive and married Brenda Broadway.
Roy was a member of Motorrad 1 Club in Mainz, Germany, a motorcycle club. He loved his Moto Guzzi Motorcycles and his constant companion, Harley Dog.
Surviving are his wife, Brenda Broadway; a stepson, Michael Ward; a stepdaughter, Christy Ezzell; six stepgrandchildren; a brother, Wayne Brock of Calypso; and three sisters, Novella Gay of Mount Olive, Faye Carter of Grifton and Juanita Winstead of Elm City.
The family will be at the home, 4952 U.S. 13 south, Mount Olive, and requests that memorial gifts be directed to the Prostate Cancer Foundation, 1250 Fourth St., Santa Monica, Calif., 90401.
