HENRY R. TAYLOR

PINK HILL -- Henry Ross "Bucky" Taylor, 84, 5081 Watering Pond Road, died Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
A service of remembrance with military honors will be held Friday, June 6, 2008, at 7 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Mitchell officiating.
Mr. Taylor was born in Lenoir County to the late Bruton Lemuel Taylor Jr. and Valley Sowers Thomas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise Hennessey Taylor.
Mr. Taylor retired from the United States Navy serving from 1942 to 1965.
Mr. Taylor is survived by four children, Janet Hill of Pink Hill, Michael Taylor of Wake Forest, Ray Smith of Wilmington and David Taylor of Wilmington; eight brothers and sisters, Bruton Taylor
of California, Jean Rogers
of LaGrange, Joyce Daniels of New Bern, Ruth Heath of Snow Hill, Gail Kramer of Virginia, Robert Thomas of Kinston, Ernest Thomas of LaGrange and Edna Dawson of LaGrange; five grandchildren, Jennifer King, Davy Taylor, Shanna Smith, Cynthia Taylor and Allen Taylor; along with several great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Friday following the service.
