JOSEPHINE B. RAYNOR

Josephine Brogden Raynor, 76, of 147 McCullen Lane, Dudley, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family and friends.
Born in Wayne County to the late Ed Sr. and Pearl Brogden, she was the wife of the late Richard C. Raynor. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a stepson, Elbert A Benton; a grandson, Robby D. Blizzard; four sisters, Lillie B. Benton, Ruby B. Pate, Ruth B. Rollison and Mildred B. McCullen; and two brothers, Philip Brogden and Thurman Brogden. Formerly employed with Borden Manufacturing, she was a loving wife and mother. She was a member of United In Christ Church.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at United In Christ Church with Pastor Ira Williford officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
Mrs. Raynor is survived by her three daughters, Sue R. Whitley and husband, Kermit, Joan R. Williams and husband, Clayton Sr., Jo Ann R. Bruno and husband, Randy; four grandchildren, Richard Blizzard and wife, Angie, Kevin Whitley and wife, Angela, Clayton Williams Jr. and wife, Misty, and Bobby R. Williams; three great grandchildren, Amber Williams, Zachery Williams and Cash Whitley; one sister, Thelma Daniels and husband, L.J.; and two brothers, Ed Brogden Jr. and wife, Eleanor, John H. Brogden and wife, Emma.
Family members will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and at other times at the home of her daughter, Joan Williams, 154 Stagecoach Lane, Dudley, or her grandson, Richard Blizzard, 918 McArthur Pond Road, Mount Olive.
The family would like to thank the staff at Kitty Askins Hospice Center for their love and kindness and care of their mother, especially her niece, Gail Edwards, Dr. Sam McLamb and a special friend, Jan Lewis.
