CHARLENE G. MULLENS
April 17, 1964-May 16, 2008
The Angels came to take Charlene Gay Mullens home on May 16, 2008, at Wayne Memorial Hospital after battling a long illness. She was the daughter of Peggy McCullen Vanoster of Dudley and the late William Vanoster and John Gay. Charlene was loved by everyone and was always the life of any gathering. She brought so much joy and laughter to all around her.
The funeral will be held Monday at 4 p.m. at Emmaus Baptist Church with the Rev. Vernon Braswell officiating. Burial will follow in the Emmaus Baptist Church Cemetery.
In addition to her mother, Charlene is survived by her husband, Matthew Mullens; one daughter, Miranda Burroughs of Dudley; one son, Matthew Moyers of Dudley; two sisters, Sandra Dulin of Dudley, Angela Oakley of Goldsboro; three brothers, Ricky Vanoster, Raymond Vanoster and J.T. Vanoster all of Buckeye, Ohio; and one grandson, Jackson Stader, whom she adored.
Family members will greet friends Sunday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and at other times will be at the home of her mother, Peggy Vanoster, 206 McCullen Lane, Dudley.
