CELIA HART WADE
SNOW HILL -- Mrs. Celia Hart Wade, 89, passed away Tuesday evening, May 6, 2008, at Lenoir Memorial Hospital. A native of Greene County, she was born Feb. 6, 1919, the daughter of Raymond E. and Mary Gay Hart. Following graduation from the Snow Hill High School, she married her late husband, William Wayne Wade, and they resided in the Stantonsburg community for many years; following retirement they returned to Snow Hill. Mrs. Wade was a member of Harrell's Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, where she had served as church clerk for 70 years and was also very active in the Ladies Auxiliary.
Funeral Services will be held 3 p.m. Friday, May 9, at Harrell's Chapel FWB Church with the Rev. Alvin Keener officiating. Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Wade is survived by her children, Mary Wade Taylor of Goldsboro, Annie Wade Carter of Chesapeake, Va., Kay Wade Hudson of Raleigh, Camilla Wade Davis and Dwight S. Wade, both of Snow Hill; sisters, Valeria H. Smith of Snow Hill and Lucy H. Hill of Hookerton; brothers, Buren Hart of Snow Hill, Dewey Hart of Hookerton and Wayne Hart of Fla.; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 7 - 9 PM at Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service and other times at the residence. Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Harrell's Chapel Ladies Auxiliary, c/o Jennifer Harper, 100 Dixon Road, Snow Hill, NC 28580.
