SMITHFIELD -- Christine Daughtry Royall, 79, died Friday morning at her home. Born Feb. 22, 1929 in Johnston County she was a daughter of the late Richard Arthur and Miggie Ophelia Lynch Daughtry. Chris was a very active member of the First Baptist Church, where she worked as the church secretary for more than 30 years. She also taught Sunday school and served as the Secretary/Treasurer for the Primary Department of the church.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, May 5, 2008, in the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Lee Colbert officiating. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum at Sunset Memorial Park.
Surviving are her husband, William N. "Bill" Royall; daughter, Erma Jo Dodd and husband, Greg, of Greensboro; brother, Billy L. Daughtry of Pikeville; grandson, Jeff Caldwell and wife, Sarah, of Smithfield as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 3 until 5 p.m. Sunday at the Parrish Funeral Home in Selma.
