EMMA JEAN BUTTS WALKER

LaGRANGE -- Emma Jean Butts Walker, 74, died Friday morning at Britthaven of Snow Hill.
Emma was born in Wayne County on Sept. 19, 1933, to the late George Butts and Grace Vinson Butts. She was married to the late Ernest Walker. Emma retired as dietary supervisor at Wayne Memorial Hospital with 26 years of service.
Funeral will be held Sunday at 4 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy Toler officiating. Interment will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.
Emma is survived by her daughters, Deborah Overton of LaGrange and Grace Janine Walker of LaGrange; her sister, Rose Butts Champlin and husband, Lonnie, of LaGrange; her brother, George Butts and wife, Loretta, of LaGrange; her grandchildren, Samantha Price McLaughlin, Brian Price and Jimmy Walker; and her great-grandson, Matthew McLaughlin. She is also survived by a god-granddaughter, Gabby.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, George Walker and Jimmy Lee Walker; and her brother, Archie Butts.

The family will receive friends Sunday following the service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, Deborah Overton, 934 Mark Edwards Road, LaGrange.
