Charles Leon Jacobs, Sr., 67, lovingly known by his family and friends as "Charles," of 218 Herbert St., Goldsboro, N.C. died Friday at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Goldsboro, N.C.
Charles was born to the late Harvey Jacobs and Bertie Manuel Jacobs.
Mr. Jacobs Sr. is survived by his wife, Dorothy Jacobs of the home; two sons, Charles Jacobs Jr. of Waldorf, Md., Maurice and wife, Shonise, of Goldsboro, N.C.; four daughters, Antoinette Ward and husband, Melvin, of Goldsboro, N.C., Charlenna Bennett-Carter and husband, Edmund, of Goldsboro, N.C., Nina Jacobs of Morrisville, N.C., Beverly Hawkins of Landover, Md.; two brothers, Kennon Jacobs and Harvey Jacobs and wife, Shirley, of Goldsboro, N.C.; and one sister, Bertie Jean Boney and husband, Steve, of Goldsboro, N.C.
Also, Charles is survived by 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at 1 p.m. from the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 600 11th St., Goldsboro, N.C. with Elder Michael Reid officiating. Burial will follow in the Wynn Family Cemetery, Dudley, N.C. A viewing will be conducted on Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 423 S. James St., Goldsboro, N.C. from 1 to 7 p.m. Also, a wake will be held at Hamilton Funeral Chapel from 6 to 7 p.m. with the family present to receive other family members and friends.
At other times, the family will receive family and friends at the home of Charlenna Bennett-Carter located at 106 Eleanor St., Goldsboro, N.C. 27534.
