MOUNT OLIVE -- Nelson Andrew Barwick, 37, of 2902 Summerlin's Crossroads Road, died Monday at N.C. Baptist Hospital at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem.
Services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at Tyndall's Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ernest Otto Griffin Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service, and other times at his home, and the home of his mother, 4124 Emmaus Church Road, Mount Olive.
Interment will be private in the Pate Cemetery.
Nelson, a member of the 1989 graduating class of Southern Wayne Senior High School, was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church where he was a deacon and was involved with its video ministry. He was recently a leader of Cub Scouts Bear Troop 42 in Calypso, and was employed with Carolina Handling as a field service technician.
He is survived by his wife, Tracy Coltren Barwick, to whom he was married in August of 1998; a son, Dallas Colten Barwick, and a daughter, Carlee Raegan Barwick, all of the home; his mother, Angeline Coker Barwick; a sister, Sandra Barwick; two brothers, Clifford Barwick and Johnnie Barwick, all of Mount Olive; his parents-in-law, Dallas and Carellen Coltren, also of Mount Olive; and many nieces and nephews.
