DELTON ALTON SHERROD

Delton "Dale" Alton Sherrod, 27, of Pikeville, died Thursday. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Pikeville Cemetery. The Rev. Gene Wells will officiate.
Dale was a thoughtful son and always helped others in any way he could.
Mr. Sherrod is survived by his mother and step-father, Linda Jean and Michael Holland of Lucama; his father and step-mother, Roy Alton Sherrod Jr. and Mary Ann Sherrod of Elm City; three step-sisters, Brittany Holland and Ali Holland both of Wilson, and Michelle Hendricks of Elm City; a step-brother, Robbie Hendricks of Nashville; grandparents, Roy Sherrod Sr. and Joyce Marie Sherrod of Wilson.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ruth Howell and Ransome "Pete" Howell.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Joyner's Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and at other times at 403 N. Parker St., Elm City and 203 Spring St., Lucama.
Flowers are welcome or memorials in his memory may be directed to the United Way of Wilson County, P.O. Box 1147, Wilson, N.C. 27894-1147.
