DORIS S. MERRITT

KENANSVILLE -- Doris Newton Sitterson Merritt, 92, died Wednesday at Davis Health Care in Wilmington. She was the daughter of the late Early Carr and Frances Newton of Duplin County. She was preceded in death by her husbands, W. Jack Sitterson of Kenansville and Elliott Merritt of Raleigh.
Two children and three stepchildren survive.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Grove Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Barbara Hedlin officiating, with burial following in Golden Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be at the home.
