ESTES A. PICKUP

Estes Avery Pickup, of Langston Drive, went home to be with the Lord. He led a courageous battle with limited eyesight and numerous illnesses. Mr. Pickup was the son of the late Florence Brands and Estes Avery Pickup and was the husband of Hazel Anderson Pickup.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in World War II, was a Master Mason at Masonic Lodge No. 252 F&A in Olean, N.Y., for 55 years, a Scottish Rite 32nd degree Ma-son and a member of the Olean Lions Club.
Memorial services will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Joann Turner officiating. Visitation will follow service.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Robert E. Pickup of Massachusetts, Donald Ray Lynch and wife, Sarah, of Goldsboro, the late John D. Lynch and wife, Judy; daughters, Kathy S. Johnson and husband, Chuck, of California, Nancy W. Wallace and husband, the late Jim Wallace, of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Robert E. Pickup Jr., John D. Lynch Jr., George D. Lynch and wife, Cherise, Amy L. and Steve M. Summerlin, Michele M. and Kevin R. Hendricks, Gary L. and Gail Lynch, Donna L. and Bill Haggerty; great-grandchildren, Jeffrey M. Wallace, Beth M. and Christopher J. Hendricks, Kristina J., Victoria H., Breanna G., and Jessica L. Summerlin, Jordan L. and Jenna E. Ford, Adam M., Anna M., and Amanda M. Haggerty.
