MARILYN R. FARRELL

Marilyn Reid Farrell, 54, went to be with her Lord Thursday morning at her home surrounded by her family.
Marilyn was born in Polk County to Ophelia Jones Reid and the late Roy G. Reid of Mooresville, N.C. She received a B.S. degree from Mars Hill College and her Masters from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and worked as an occupational therapist. Marilyn was an active member of Pine Forest United Methodist Church, where she was in the hand bell choir and had served on many committees including the Outreach Committee.
A service to celebrate her life will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Pine Forest United Methodist Church with the Rev. Billy Olsen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her devoted husband, Frank Farrell; her son, Daniel Farrell, a student at North Carolina State University; her sister, Phyllis Graham and husband, Danny, of Mooresville and their children, Rachel and Robert. She is also survived by a number of cousins, other relatives and friends.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Pine Forest United Methodist Church, 867 S U.S. Highway 581, Goldsboro, N.C. 27530.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
