JAMAICA, N.Y. -- Mother Emma Moore Johnson Rouse, 75, of 150-84 116th Drive, formerly of Wayne County, died Monday in Queens General Hospital.
The service of victory and triumph will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Johnson Chapel United Holy Church. Pastor Evelyn Gilchrist will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
She was preceded in the silent halls of death by her husbands, Odell Johnson and Darden Rouse; two siblings, James Arthur Moore and Addie McKinley.
She is survived by daughters, Odessa Buckrham of Jamaica, N.Y., Verna Carrington of Bronx, N.Y., Missionary Wanda Pickett of Dudley, Gloria Johnson and Minister Aletha Johnson, both of Durham; sons, ONeil Johnson and Mandel Johnson, both of Jamaica, N.Y.; sisters, Geraldine Dais of Goldsboro, Frances Jean Best of Charlotte, Inez Stamps of Kissimmee, Fla.; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be Saturday from noon until 1 p.m. at the church. The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Wanda Pickett, 123 Kornegay Drive, Dudley.
Arrangements are by McIntyre Funeral Home Ministries, Goldsboro.
