BERNARD WILLIAMS
Bernard Williams was born April 24, 1931, to Jesse and Sarah Williams in Brooklyn, N.Y. He graduated from Boys High School in Brooklyn and attended Huston-Til-lotson Col-lege in Aus-tin, Texas, before joining the U.S. Ma-rine Corps. In January, 1953, he married Thelma Smalls who preceded him in death and they had four children.
Bernard is survived by his daughters, Francine Smith and Anncine Williams, both of Goldsboro, Katherine Bowen and husband, Arnold, of Montgomery, Ala.; a stepdaughter, Dana Gattling of Beaufort, S.C.; a stepson, Russell Gattling of Brooklyn, N.Y.; 11 grandchildren, Lynette Williams, Tyrone Smith, LaShawntique Wil-liams, Michelle Williams, Justin Smith, Yolanda Williams, Crystal Williams, Yolanda Gattling, Tiffany Williams, Brandon Richard-son and Nyejha Bowen.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Victory Faith Center with Apostle Walter Barbour officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park, U.S. Highway 117. Viewing will be Wednesday from 2 to 6 p.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home Ministries, Goldsboro.
